Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, winding south through the scenic Moulay Brahim gorge and into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. We arrive at our trailhead in Imi Oughlad, surrounded by towering peaks including Jbel Toubkal (4167m). After meeting your expert guides and muleteer crew, we embark on a 2-hour acclimatization hike northeastward, traversing barley fields and through fragrant pine and juniper forests to Tizi N’tachte (2000m). Enjoy breathtaking views of Imlil and the Ait Oussaden valley, dotted with traditional Berber villages. We continue for another half hour to Imi n’Ifri, where we’ll savor a picnic lunch overlooking the landscape. The final leg of the day is a leisurely 2.5-hour descent along a dirt track through Assif n’Ait Oussaden to the ancient red clay terraced village of Tiziane (1750m).
Overnight in a charming guesthouse
After breakfast, we ascend through walnut groves towards Tizi N’taghrhourte (1995m), rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the tranquility of Assaka spring. The afternoon brings us down along forest edges to the Berber village of D’knt (1870m) or Agouns n’Assoul, where we’ll enjoy dinner and rest.

Today’s hike takes us through groves of walnut trees and fields of corn for three hours, ascending towards Tizi n’Tagdalte. Along the way, we’ll encounter local shepherds and witness the daily life of Berber communities. After a refreshing picnic near a spring nestled amongst juniper trees, we descend along winding tracks to the Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley, arriving at the charming village of Tizi Oussem (1850m) before continuing up to the Azib Tamsoult Hut.
Overnight in a cozy mountain hut
We begin our day with an eastward trek, ascending via challenging mule tracks to the dramatic Tizi Aguelzim (3550m). From here, we continue for three hours southeastward towards the Toubkal Refuge (3207m), marking the spring snowline. Enjoy dinner and prepare for your summit attempt!

An early start is essential as we ascend to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4167m). The panoramic views from the top are simply breathtaking! After soaking in the scenery, we descend via either the Ikkhibi Sud or South Cirque back to the Refuge for a well-deserved picnic lunch. We then begin our descent northwards along winding trails through the Valley of the Assif N’isougane N’ouagounss, passing by the Shrine of Sidi Chamharouch before arriving in the village of Imlil. From there, we’ll transfer back to Marrakech, carrying unforgettable memories of your Atlas Mountains adventure.
