Group 3 Day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, heading into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. The scenic route along the Tizi n’Tichka pass offers incredible views of valleys and traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. Our first stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Benhaddou – a stunning ksar (fortified village) featured in films like “Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” You’ll have time to explore its labyrinthine streets and soak up the atmosphere.

After a delicious traditional Moroccan lunch, we continue towards the Dades Valley, passing through the picturesque Skoura oasis – known for its palm groves and historic Kasbahs. As you approach the Dades Gorge, the landscape transforms into dramatic rock formations and deep gorges. Check in to your hotel in the Dades Valley, relax, and enjoy a delightful dinner surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

After breakfast, we journey towards the impressive Todra Gorge, another of Morocco’s natural wonders. These towering cliffs reach up to 300 meters high and offer a stunning backdrop for photos and exploration.

Next, we head towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the towns of Tinjdad and Erfoud (famous for its fossils). Arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon, prepare for the highlight of your trip: a camel trek into the heart of Erg Chebbi! As you ride across the undulating dunes, witness the mesmerizing colors of the sunset.

Your destination is a traditional Berber camp nestled amongst the dunes. You’ll be warmly welcomed with mint tea and hospitality. Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner followed by an evening of music around the campfire. Relax under the star-studded desert sky – far from city lights!

Wake up early to witness one of the most spectacular sights in the world: the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. The golden light slowly spreads across the dunes, creating a truly magical moment.

After breakfast at the camp, we begin our journey back to Marrakech. We’ll pass through the lush Draa Valley – the longest river valley in Morocco, lined with date palms and ancient Kasbahs. We’ll stop in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara” and famous for its film studios and the historic Kasbah Taourirt. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing our drive over the High Atlas Mountains, arriving back in Marrakech in the early evening.

This 3-day group tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or a central location in Marrakech, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Moroccan desert adventure.
