The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Marrakech to Imlil, the gateway to the Atlas Mountains. After meeting your experienced local guide and support team, embark on a 3-hour trek through the picturesque Ait Mizane Valley. Your ascent takes you past the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, a spiritual landmark for Berber pilgrims. Arrive at Toubkal Refuge (also known as Toubkal Hut), where you’ll settle in for the night and enjoy dinner with stunning mountain views.

An early start is essential! After a hearty breakfast, begin your ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m / 13,670 ft). The climb is challenging but rewarding, offering unparalleled panoramic views. After soaking in the scenery and celebrating your achievement, descend back to Imlil for an overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse.

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains towards Boumalne Dades. Pass through traditional Berber villages and witness breathtaking landscapes. You’ll traverse the Tizi n’Tichka pass, stopping for photos along the way. Arrive in Boumalne Dades, nestled within the dramatic Dades Gorge, and check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today’s journey takes you through the towering Todgha Gorges, where sheer rock walls rise dramatically above the valley floor. Enjoy a short walk in the oasis before heading to Merzouga, the gateway to Erg Chebbi. As the sun begins to set, embark on a camel trek into the vast dunes, arriving at your traditional Sahara desert camp for an authentic Berber dinner under the stars, complete with music and storytelling around the campfire.

Wake early (optional) to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes before enjoying breakfast at camp. Then, begin your journey back to Marrakech, passing through Ouarzazate, known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” and across the High Atlas Mountains. Your tour concludes with arrival in Marrakech, where we’ll drop you off at your riad, hotel, or a location of your choice.

The Mount Toubkal trek requires a moderate level of fitness and some hiking experience, especially during winter when snow may be present.
Winter treks require additional equipment like crampons and ice axes, which can be rented in Imlil.
Day 5 involves a long drive back to Marrakech; consider adding extra nights in Dades Valley or Ouarzazate to break up the journey.
