Tour Plan

After a hearty breakfast, our journey to Merzouga commences, guiding us through the enchanting Middle Atlas region. Passing through Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco, we traverse the cedar forests of Azrou, offering a chance to hand-feed the resident monkeys. Lunch awaits us in Midelt, and then we follow the picturesque Ziz River through the valley, pausing to marvel at the Ziz Gorges en route to Merzouga.

Today’s exploration focuses on the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi desert dunes. A circuit of the dunes reveals the nomadic way of life and the ever-changing contrasts of the desert. A visit to the “black village” of Khamlia introduces us to the vibrant sounds of Gnawa music. Enjoy a traditional Berber pizza lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. As the afternoon unfolds, a camel ride brings us to witness the sunset over the dunes, culminating in an evening at a desert camp. Indulge in a traditional tagine dinner, sip on mint tea, and immerse yourself in the magic of Berber music under the Saharan stars.

Following breakfast, a camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line precedes our departure from Erg Chebbi. An off-road journey across the hamada leads us to Rissani, with the option to explore the vibrant local market. Moving north, we arrive in Erfoud, known for its fossils, and may visit a fossil workshop. Our route continues to the remarkable Todra canyons, a haven for rock climbing. Explore the canyons before checking into the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Embark on a scenic drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing by numerous fortified houses. Traverse the Dades Valley and venture into the mountainous region through an off-road trail, encountering Berber villages and nomads along the way. A visit to a nomadic family offers insight into their daily life and herding activities. Be captivated by the colorful Rose Valley landscapes before reaching the Skoura palm grove. Continue to Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, explore the Taourirt Kasbah before departing for Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the traditional Berber village of Telouet, visiting the Kasbah el Glaoui. Lunch in Telouet precedes the descent through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, leading to Marrakech where our memorable journey concludes
